Families in Need

Every child deserves the joy of play, no matter their circumstances. We provide free toys, books, and games to families who may be struggling financially or facing challenging times. If you’re finding it difficult to afford toys, our service is here for you — no cost, no judgment, just kindness and community support. A simple gift can make a big difference.

Foster Parents

Whether you need toys for short-term placements, long-term care, or respite, we are here to support you. It’s a simple way to give children in your care access to quality play resources whenever they need them. The child can keep the toys and you replenish your toy stock when needed.

Care & Nursing Homes

Play and creativity aren’t just for children — they bring joy, connection, and comfort to people of all ages. We work with care homes, nursing homes, and dementia support settings to provide toys, games, and puzzles that encourage reminiscence, conversation, and wellbeing. These donations help create warm, engaging environments that spark smiles and shared memories among residents and staff alike.

Schools

We partner with schools, nurseries, breakfast and after-school clubs to help ensure every child has access to play and learning resources. Whether you’re supporting pupils from low-income families, running wellbeing projects, or creating play areas, we can help by supplying pre-loved toys, books, and games.

Community Groups & Charities

We’re proud to work alongside community organisations, food banks, family centres, and local charities who support children and families across South Wales. If your group helps families in need or runs community activities for children, we can provide toy donations to support your work.

Toy Libraries - Borrow/Stay&Play

We help organisations offer stay-and-play sessions, toy borrowing, or traditional toy library services by providing a wide range of toys and resources. To support you, we include our Stay & Play poster (ENG) for display during play sessions, as well as our Borrow & Return tracker poster (ENG/CYM) to help you keep track of which toys have been taken out and returned. It’s a simple way to keep your toy library organised and running smoothly while giving families great play opportunities.

NHS Teams and Health Services

From health visitors and family liaison teams to hospital wards and child development services, we’re honoured to support NHS professionals who make such a difference in children’s lives. We can provide toys and books for waiting areas, therapy sessions, or for families identified through NHS support networks who may benefit from a little extra help

Third Sector & Support Services

We also collaborate with third sector organisations across South Wales — from housing and social care providers to youth and wellbeing projects. If your service supports children or families who could benefit from toys or resources, we’re here to help you extend your impact.

Lego Therapists

Lego therapists can access two large bags of assorted LEGO for their sessions, packed with a wide range of bricks and pieces. While no instruction manuals are included, we recommend using the BrickIt app — simply scan the bricks you have, and the app will generate build ideas and step-by-step instructions based on the pieces available. It’s an easy way to support creative, flexible, and engaging therapy sessions.

Useful Information

Booking a Visit
Please book a time slot to visit the ToyBox Warehouse and collect what you need. You’re welcome to take a box of toys per child, a few bags or boxes for a community group, or even a car or van load for a school — whatever best suits your needs.

What’s Available
We have toys suitable for all ages, from newborns to teenagers. Our stock changes every week, so it’s helpful to bring a short “shopping list” of what you’re looking for. Everything is completely free of charge. We are unable to reserve items or carry out stock checks due to stock changing over daily.

Donations
While all toys are free, donations are greatly appreciated and help us keep the service running. Even £5 per visit can make a big difference. You can donate in cash when you visit or by card through our website.
